I just found a TON of old posts that I haven't posted yet, so stay tuned for some major flashbacks!
So my dad has a business trip in Atlanta about once a year. For the last few years he has taken a day after that and flown up to North Carolina to see Alyse, Tommy, and Dane. Since they were now out of NC, he decided instead to fly down to Miami and spend about 24 hours with us. Little did he know that was the day after our first ultrasound, so I had a little surprise for him:
(I didn't know that I should have written "3.0", because Alyse hadn't announced her pregnancy yet.)
I needed to tell Dad because I had been so sick that I figured he would want to know why I was throwing up constantly... go figure I didn't get sick in front of him once. And that is how we announced to my side of the family! My dad sent the picture out to everyone and they called or texted. I know he liked being first though.
I had just been "let go" from my tutoring job (blessing in disguise), so I was waiting for my final payment that day. We got back to our apartment to drop off my dad's stuff, then went to pick up Brandon. We took him to Haulover beach, where we had seen the manatee a few weeks earlier. We didn't see any manatees... but my dad did get stung 3 times by jellyfish. Sorry!
The next morning we brought Brandon to school, then my dad and I set out with our guide to South Florida in hand. The book recommended going to Coral Gables, so we set off in that direction.. and got totally lost. I felt bad taking my dad everywhere without having a real goal in mind, but I found this place in the book called "Palacio de los Jugos" that sounded good. On our way there, we found:
YES! And it was in a not so nice part of town so we KNEW it had to be good. And we were not disappointed.

My dad counted and I think it was 15 cities that he has had pupusas in, so I'm glad I was able to add Miami to his list.
We did find the Palacio de los Jugos, and it was DELICIOUS. I have to be careful with what I eat right now, but the fresh pina colada was excellent.
We love having people come into town!
