3 Giullians in Washington D.C.- Part 5

We were sad to leave Maryland but antsy to get back to Florida. But we did have one stop that was for sure on our list for that day- Raleigh! More specifically, Durham to see Duke campus.
We started at Duke Gardens. It was BEAUTIFUL but we didn't see too much before it started pouring rain and we had to run for it. Not easy with a 25 pound lug in a carrier.

Next up was to find the famous Coach K court. So I don't know about you, but I thought it would have been more prominent and bigger. But it was tucked away on campus, and we thought it was under construction because the outside of the building was.

This was before we figured out we could turn the lights on.
It was pretty sweet. You can walk right on! It was amazing to see the court where so many famous games have been played. Even I know about it, which says something.
Brandon was in heaven. Even taking selfies. Which I must share because it's hilarious.

Cora had no idea the greatness she was crawling on. She was just glad to be out of the car!

Pretty amazing. But about as big as the Hart building's basketball court on BYU-Idaho campus.

On our way out I asked Brandon if we could stop at the temple to snap a picture. Cora fell asleep right as we were getting there so we pulled up to the front of the temple, hopped out, left my door open, took 2 steps away and took this picture. It was still a cute one. MAN that temple is tiny compared to Washington D.C. Which we had just seen the day before. I think wherever we live next I wouldn't mind living by one of those little ones though... they're endearing. And this was temple 28 for us! We are SO close to 30.

We decided to forgo Charleston and see Savannah instead (because the hotels were cheaper). It really wasn't that much further of a drive, but we did have to just power through South Carolina again. We will come back, SC! We will see Charleston and go to the Columbia temple (another tiny one).
But anyway. Cora was a TROOPER. She finally put together how to hold her bottle up since she didn't want to before but had no choice now. Look at that poor lovey.
The last half hour or so to Savannah was really rough. Cora was exhausted and so done with being in the car, and would scream and scream unless she was holding my hand. So my arm was completely numb from the blood flow being cut off. She was the real MVP of this trip, because it would not have been possible if she hadn't been so nice!
We saw so much in Savannah that it deserves its own post. But we are ALMOST done with the trip!
